PHILADELPHIA, PA / ATLANTA, GA (October 15, 2026) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrators from the Mid-Atlantic (Region 3) and Southeast (EPA Region 4) recently toured farms in both Maryland and Kentucky to highlight the importance of regenerative agriculture practices that support healthy soils, cleaner water, and long-term farm resilience.

In support of President Trump's recent executive order, "Advancing regenerative agriculture and strengthening American farm resilienceExit EPA's website," these visits underscored the value of voluntary, locally informed conservation practices such as cover crops, reduced tillage, nutrient management, rotational grazing, buffer plantings, and other approaches that can improve soil structure, retain moisture, reduce erosion, and limit nutrient loss to nearby waterways.

Hosted by Regenified, a regenerative verification program, the visits provided the Regional Administrators an opportunity to meet directly with farmers and have discussions focused on practical approaches that can improve land management, reduce runoff, strengthen watershed protection, support supply chain resilience and advance the continued success of American agriculture.

"Farmers are at the heart of America's food supply, our rural economy, and our environmental progress," said EPA Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator Amy Van Blarcom-Lackey. "These visits are about listening, learning, and recognizing the innovation farmers are already putting to work-from improving soil health and protecting water quality to adopting practices that keep their operations productive, resilient, and profitable for future generations."

"Across the Southeast, we see every day how conservation-minded farming practices can strengthen both the land and the local economy," said Southeast Regional Administrator Kevin McOmber. "EPA's role is to support that work by partnering with states, farmers and local organizations to share information, reduce barriers, and help communities put practical solutions to work."
