National Nurses United (NNU), the largest union of registered nurses in the United States with more than 225,000 members, today announced its endorsement of Matt Little for Minnesota's 2nd Congressional District. Throughout his decades of service as an elected official and attorney, Little has proven how to lead with care and compassion. He has consistently fought for the health care system we need and deserve - one that provides care free at the point of service, like Medicare for All.
"As a state senator and throughout his legal career, Matt Little has shown up for our nurses and the patients we care for when we've needed him the most," said Mary Turner, RN and NNU president. "He's committed to securing guaranteed health care for everyone, and knows how to bring people together to get the work done. Nurses know Matt will prioritize our patients over the corporate interests behind our broken, profit-driven health care system."
"Thank you," said Matt Little. "I am enormously grateful and humbled to be endorsed by National Nurses United. No issue is more important than health care, and the nurses represented by NNU are indispensable to ensuring that our families receive the high-quality, personal care everyone deserves. By advocating for quality care, high nursing standards, safe staffing levels, and better funding in hospitals and clinics, NNU's members work to keep my family, and all families, healthy and safe. Thank you, NNU!"
NNU supports candidates who are committed to nurses' values, including safe staffing in all hospitals across the country, protecting the rights of workers to organize, and guaranteeing health care to everyone. In a recent Gallup poll, nurses were voted the most trusted profession in the United States for the 24th consecutive year. NNU looks forward to helping elect Little and working closely with him in Congress on the important issues that affect registered nurses, our patients, and our communities.
National Nurses United is the largest and fastest-growing union and professional association of registered nurses in the United States with more than 225,000 members nationwide. NNU affiliates include California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, DC Nurses Association, Michigan Nurses Association, Minnesota Nurses Association, and New York State Nurses Association.
