RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, today announced the upcoming release of "Exploring Complex Survey Data Analysis Using R: A Tidy Introduction with {srvyr} and {survey}," a book co-authored by RTI senior research statistician Stephanie Zimmer, Ph.D.
The 360-page hardcover, set to be published by Chapman & Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 19, provides an in-depth exploration of complex survey analysis techniques using the R programming language.
Specifically, it offers intermediate R users a comprehensive guide to conducting survey analysis with the {srvyr} package and tidyverse family of functions. It features practical walkthroughs using real-world datasets, including the American National Election Studies and Residential Energy Consumption Survey.
"This book aims to equip students and practitioners with the tools they need to accurately analyze and communicate survey results," said Zimmer. "I'm thrilled to have had the chance to collaborate on this resource with two colleagues who share my passion for survey research."
Zimmer holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Iowa State University and has a decade of experience in survey sampling, design and analysis, including for several national in-person surveys. Her expertise also includes statistical programming and status as an RStudio Tidyverse Trainer certification holder.
She co-authored the book with Rebecca Powell, Ph.D., director of data management and survey programming at Fors Marsh, and Isabella Velásquez, a content strategist, data enthusiast and author.
