Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo Announces Special Guests Riding in 136th Rose Parade

PASADENA, Calif.- On, January 1, 2025, Mayor Victor M. Gordo will travel down the route of the 136th Rose Parade joined by his family, and Pasadena residents and friends Rebecca and Terry Crews, and, Dodgers icon Jaime Jarrín and Jaime's son Jorge and daughter in-law Maggie.

The Mayor of Pasadena, Victor Gordo, will ride in a Yosemite National Park Bus. The White Motor Co. produced a bus specifically for use in Yellowstone National Park. This vehicle, known as #176, served on park tours from 1925 until the late 1930s. After retiring from the Park Services, bus #176 was acquired by Bill Harrah, who partially restored it. In 1973 the Williams family acquired it, where it sat in their garage for over 30 years. On September 30th, 2004, Page Whyte purchased the bus. Despite accumulating several inches of dust, it was in surprisingly good condition. It only needed a thorough cleaning, new tires, and a new battery. After adding fresh gasoline, it started right up!

Riding with the Mayor at his invitation will be Baseball Hall of Fame Broadcaster and former Dodger announcer of 64 years Jaime Jarrín. Also included will be Jaime's son, former LA radio personality and Dodger broadcaster Jorge Jarrín, joined by his lovely wife of 43 years Maggie Jarrín.

"We are thrilled to be joining Mayor Victor Gordo, along with his family to ring in 2025. Mayor Gordo is a friend and has been an outstanding Mayor and we are proud to make the ride down Colorado Boulevard with him," states Jorge.

The Jarrín's have lived in the Pasadena area since 1962 first moving to Pasadena, then Altadena and then to San Marino in 1965.

Though both Jaime and Jorge have retired from announcing Dodger Baseball, Jaime continues to represent the Dodgers at various functions and events, making him the longest Dodger employee, joining the Dodgers in 1959, and son Jorge heads up their nonprofit organization, the Jaime and Blanca Jarrín Foundation, primarily raising funds for scholarships for young economically challenged youth. To date they have awarded close to $200,000 in scholarships.

Terry and Rebecca Crews will also join the Mayor. Author, action-movie hero, sitcom star, children's book illustrator, advertising pitchman, playable video game character, talent show host, high-end furniture designer, and human rights activist all describe the man that is Terry Crews. Crews is set to star in Tales of the Walking Dead and hosts "America's Got Talent" spinoffs "AGT Champions," and "AGT Extreme."

The unstoppable Terry Crews' latest role is based on long-running comic strip JumpStart. He will be starring in a lead role as well as executive producing the CBS comedy pilot. After several years in the NFL (where he painted portraits of teammates to supplement his income) with the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles, Crews turned his talents to the performing arts, where his talent, hard work, character, and dedication has made him one of the most sought out and respected talents in the industry.
