The Reverend Horton Heat to headline St. Paddy’s Texas Style

The City of Lewisville is ready to rock out as The Reverend Horton Heat will be the headline musical act at this year's St. Paddy's Texas Style event on Saturday, March 14, 1-9:30 p.m., at Wayne Ferguson Plaza, 150 W. Church Street.

This free family-friendly event celebrates St. Patrick's Day and Texas Independence Day by blending traditional Irish music with Texas country and tributes. It also will include carnival-type activities for kids, along with food and beverage concessions.

The Reverend Horton Heat is a psychobilly trio from Dallas that plays rock and roll with influences from 1950s country music, surf, punk, big band, swing, and rockabilly. Led by singer and guitarist, Jim "Reverend Horton" Heath, the band is touring in support of its current album "The Roots of the Rev."

The band cut their teeth on the Deep Ellum music scene and rose to fame in the 1990s through constant touring, manic showmanship, a thunderous style of dazzling high-speed guitar riffs, high-profile swagger, a lyrical smirk, and a barbed sense of humor.

The Reverend Horton Heat will take the Wayne Ferguson Plaza stage at 8 p.m.

Beyond the Pale will kick things off at 1 p.m. on the City Hall stage. Additional musical acts and performance groups include Rathmore, Beyond the Pale, Texanadian, Scott Strickland, and River Driver.

Free event parking will be available at Lewisville City Hall and in nearby public parking lots including the Visitor Information Center, 247 W. Main Street; Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street; and on-street parking.
