Illinois Power Agency Announces May Workshop and Request for Comments on Long-Term Clean Energy Procurement Framework

The Illinois Power Agency (IPA) is launching a stakeholder process to develop a long-term clean energy procurement framework as directed under the P.A. 104-0458, Section 16-111.5. This process will help the Agency develop a procurement framework for future Electricity Procurement Plans, informed by the ongoing Resource Adequacy Mitigation Plan and Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) process.

As part of this process, the IPA is hosting a stakeholder workshop on May 5, 2026, at 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. CT, and releasing a Request for Comments with preliminary questions. These questions are preliminary and broad by design to support initial conversation framing and concept development. The Agency anticipates releasing additional questions sets and hosting robust stakeholder collaboration throughout the process.
