Defence Secretary Delivers Lecture at DSCSC

The Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) delivered a lecture to participants of Course No 19 of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) today (10 December).

The Defence Secretary was received by the Commandant of the DSCSC, Major General Shantha Hewage, on his arrival at the DSCSC in Makola this morning.

The Course No. 19 includes 123 local participants and 26 from friendly foreign nations.

The Defence Secretary commended the DSCSCe's role in shaping future military leaders and highlighted the remarkable transformation of Sri Lanka's security landscape. Further, he emphasized rightsizing the Armed Forces to create a sharper, more capable, and sustainable force with modernizing command and control architectures through digital integration and enhanced situational awareness.

The Defence Secretary also underscored the need for technological advancement, joint operations, interoperability and professional military education while encouraging officers to embrace innovation and strategic thinking.

Senior officers of the DSCSC and student officers were present at the occasion.
