Board of County Commissioners' Schedule for March 9 - March 13, 2026

MONDAY, March 9
There are no public meetings scheduled for this day.

TUESDAY, March 10
8:30 a.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

  1. Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e).
    Purpose: Potential agreement with Town of Bayfield regarding Cinnamon Heights project.

10:00 a.m. - Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

  1. Approval of County Cash Requirements February 20, 2026 through February 27, 2026.
  2. Approval of Policy No. III.6 - Policy for acceptance of donations, gifts or bequests to La Plata County.
  3. Approval of Grant Application for $40,000 to Caring for Colorado "Choose When" to Preserve Contraceptive Care in La Plata County.
  4. Approval of a lease for San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging on the third floor of 10 Burnett Ct.
  5. Approval of appointment of Planning Commissioners to the Board of Adjustment.
  6. Consideration of Survey Contracting and Employment.
  7. Consideration of Resolution number 2026-10 Amending the 2025 Budget.

THURSDAY, March 12

4:00 p.m. - Matt Salka to host Commissioner Chat at the Ignacio Community Library

Commissioner Matt Salka will host Commissioner Chat from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ignacio Community Library, located at 470 Goddard Ave. Residents are encouraged to stop by for an informal chat about county issues or concerns.

FRIDAY, March 13

10:00 a.m. - Annual Tour of La Plata County Jail
As required by Colorado Revised Statutes, the Board will take their annual tour of the La Plata County Jail at 742 Turner Drive.

11:30 a.m. - Counties & Commissioners Acting Together (CCAT) Policy Meeting
The Board will attend the virtual CCAT Policy Meeting: Fiscal Reform and Public Health/Human Services Committees.

2:30 p.m. - Executive Session
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute § 24-6-402 (4), upon the affirmative vote
of two-thirds of the quorum present, the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners will hold an executive session to discuss the following matters:

  1. For purposes of the Board receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(b). Purpose: Estate of Daniel Foard v. Southern Health Partners and La Plata County, Case No. 25CV2223.
  2. Determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations; developing strategy for negotiations; and instructing negotiators pursuant to Colo. Rev. Stat. § 24-6-402(4)(e).
    Purpose: Estate of Daniel Foard v. Southern Health Partners and La Plata County, Case No. 25CV2223.
