Visit to the Somon Garden farm in Tursunzoda city

On August 14, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, got acquainted with the grape harvest at the Somon Garden farm in Tursunzoda city.

Currently, the total area of the productive vineyard on the farm is about 500 hectares, and the harvest and supply of products to domestic and foreign markets are underway.

The Somon Garden farm grows 10 varieties of grapes, including white, black, royal, president, etc.

The number of shareholders of the Somon Garden farm is more than 1,100 people, and up to 4 thousand residents are invited to seasonal work during the harvest period.

Currently, as part of the implementation of the Program for the Development of Horticulture, Viticulture and Citrus Growing in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025-2029, the restoration of 50 hectares of the old vineyard of the Somon Garden farm is underway. For this purpose, in order to expand export opportunities, mainly royal, presidential, avatar, and cardinal varieties of grapes are planted, which are in great demand in international markets.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, drew the attention of farmers to the full use of existing opportunities, compliance with the nuances of cultivation, timely harvesting, and increasing export opportunities.

During the years of state independence, with the support, care and guidance of the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, a new vineyard was created in the city of Tursunzoda on an area of 2,730 hectares, where mainly export varieties are grown. This year, the city's farmers will harvest grapes from an area of 3,970 hectares.

From these vast areas, using the abundance of the harvest, 3,000 tons of products will be stored in the Somon Garden farm until the cold season to be offered to the consumer market in the winter and spring seasons of 2026-2027.

Over the past 5 years alone, 33 new cold storage facilities have been built in Tursunzoda, bringing the total number to 83, and now it is ready to store 26,470 tons of agricultural products.

During a visit to the exhibition of agricultural products in Tursunzoda, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that the continuous support and attention of the Government of the country, strengthening cooperation between science and production, improving the experience of workers, and modernizing the process of planting and growing crops have led to an increase in agricultural production.

Over the past 5 years alone, greenhouses have been built in Tursunzoda to modernize the production process on an area of 67.4 hectares, and today their total area in this agro-industrial city has reached 84 hectares.

Currently, the process of planting and growing vegetables is ensured in all four seasons of the year, which has contributed to the increase in food production and meeting the needs of the consumer market with fresh vegetables in the winter and spring seasons.

During his visit to the exhibition of agricultural products, the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, gave instructions and guidance to the officials and hardworking farmers of Tursunzoda city on timely and loss-free collection of agricultural products, full use of opportunities for exporting products, storing food in warehouses and cold stores, and harvesting 3-4 crops from the land per year.

The presentation of products in various forms with beautiful images embodies the hard work of the inhabitants of this fertile land and the abundance of agricultural products, proving the exemplary implementation of the strategic goal of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in ensuring food security.
