Broome County Ready to Welcome Thousands for Year Two of NYSPHSAA Girls Softball Championships
(TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY) - Broome County is preparing to welcome teams, coaches, families, and fans from across the state as the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Girls Softball Championships return to Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park from June 12-13.
This marks the second consecutive year Broome County has hosted the state championships at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park. Originally a four-field dirt complex known as BAGSAI, the facility underwent a $4 million transformation and reopened in spring 2024 as a premier softball destination. Broome County was selected to host the championships through 2027.
Since opening, Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park has become a major destination for youth sports tournaments and regional competitions. From May through November of last year, the facility welcomed more than 40,000 visitors, including athletes, coaches, families, tournament staff, and spectators from across New York State and beyond.
According to figures released by Visit Binghamton, Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park generated more than $5.3 million in economic impact during the 2025 season through overnight stays, dining, transportation, shopping, and other local spending.
Broome County is also proud to welcome several local teams competing in this year's championships. Maine-Endwell, Susquehanna Valley, and Deposit-Hancock each earned the opportunity to compete for a state title and will represent the Broome County on New York's biggest high school softball stage.
Event parking will be available at SUNY Broome Community College, located directly across from Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park. A free shuttle service will operate continuously between the parking area and the complex throughout the championship weekend.
