Monroe County Executive Adam Bello today announced Monroe County's Fifth Annual Veterans Day Parade will be held Saturday, November 7, 2026. The parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of South Goodman Street and Highland Avenue and proceed up Highland Avenue to the Greater Rochester Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Gary Beikirch Park on South Avenue, where it concludes with a ceremony.

The Grand Marshal of this year's parade will be New York State Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt, who represents the 62nd district, covering the towns of Sweden and Ogden in Monroe County, and all of Niagara and Orleans counties. Senator Ortt is a U.S. Army National Guard veteran who enlisted in direct response to the attacks on September 11 and served during Operation Enduring Freedom. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, the Afghan Campaign Medal, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge in recognition of his service.

"This year's parade is an opportunity for the community to show our appreciation for all of our veterans, including our grand marshal, Senator Ortt," said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. "My administration is committed to honoring our heroes not only on Veteran's Day, but year-round with programs and policies that show our unwavering gratitude for their service."

Previously, grand marshals have included Honor Flight, Sheriff Todd Baxter, and local radio host Alan "Brother Wease" Levin.

The family-friendly parade will include musical marching units, veterans' service organizations, law enforcement, military-style vehicles, high-ranking active-duty service members and groups representing veterans of all eras and military branches. Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase.
