This week we are pleased to announce Dr. Theodore Cory, Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science at UTHSC College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Cory will be presenting his seminar titled "Targeting Cellular Reservoirs of HIV"

Summary:
While advancements in drug therapy have radically transformed the treatment for people living with HIV, the presence of HIV in cellular reservoirs has been a major obstacle in HIV cure research. Dr. Cory's research is focused on the macrophage reservoir of HIV, an important secondary reservoir of HIV. Differences in drug efflux transporter expression across the spectrum of macrophage polarization suggests that this reservoir may require novel strategies across the spectrum of macrophage activation, rather than treating this reservoir as a monolith.
