Dublin City Council (DCC) is actively monitoring elevated surface water levels across the city, particularly in the River Liffey in the general vicinity of Chapelizod. DCC is also working closely with Waterways Ireland in relation to the Grand Canal, which is experiencing heightened water levels. Flood Management and Emergency crews have been responding continuously throughout the night and into today and working collaboratively with Uisce Éireann. Our Crews will remain active across the weekend to implement planned mitigation measures and address and further issues as they arise. Although rainfall has temporarily eased, surface water levels remain high and conditions continue to be closely monitored.

In addition, a yellow ice and low-temperature warning is in place for Dublin from 21:00 on Friday to 10:00 on Saturday. While priority routes will be gritted, hazardous driving conditions and travel disruption may occur. Road users and pedestrians are advised to take extra care.

Public safety remains the Council's priority. Residents and businesses, especially those in low-lying or flood-prone areas, are advised to take necessary precautions. The public is urged to exercise caution in areas where flooding has occurred or may occur, avoid driving through flooded roads, and report urgent issues through the Council's emergency contact channels.

For urgent flooding issues during working hours, please contact DCC Customer Services on 01 222 2222. For urgent issues outside normal working hours, the DCC Out of Hours Team can be reached on 01 222 3150. Further updates will issue as conditions develop.

DCC continues to monitor water levels closely and will implement appropriate responses as conditions develop. The Council maintains supplies of sandbags at strategic locations for deployment in response to identified flooding risks, with priority given to critical infrastructure and locations assessed as being at immediate risk.
