On February 15th, H.E. Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of Mission of China to the African Union, met with Dr. Jean Chrysostome Ngabintsinze, the Director General of the African Risk Capability Group.
Amb. Jiang stated that China highly values its partnership with the African Union. Recently, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made his first overseas visit of the new year to the AU Headquarters and held the 9th China-AU Strategic Dialogue with the Chairperson of AUC,H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, further mapping out a blueprint for practical China-AU cooperation. We should join hands to pursue stable, resilient and predictable cooperation to jointly overcome the volatile and intertwined international situation. China will open its vast market wider to Africa through measures such as negotiating and signing the China-Africa Common Development Economic Partnership Agreement, and support Africa's industrialization and modernization.
Ngabintsinze recalled Amb. Jiang's fruitful visit to the organization, which further attests to the ever-stronger China-Africa friendship. He expressed great excitement over President Xi Jinping's announcement in his congratulatory message to the 39th AU Summit that China will implement zero-tariff measures for all African countries with which it has diplomatic relations. He stands ready to deepen cooperation with China, with capacity building at the core, to achieve common development.
