ATLANTA - The House Republican Caucus today elected State Representative Soo Hong (R-Lawrenceville) as vice chairman of the House Majority Caucus to fill State Representative Houston Gaines' (R-Athens) remaining tenure as vice chairman of the caucus for the 2025-2026 legislative term.
"I am grateful to be entrusted by my colleagues with the opportunity to fill Vice Chairman Gaines' position and serve as the Majority Caucus vice chairman for the remainder of the 2025-2026 legislative term," said Rep. In this role, Majority Caucus Vice-Chairman Hong facilitates member services and helps oversee the political efforts of the Majority Caucus, including incumbent re-election, candidate recruitment and caucus fundraising. Additionally, Majority Caucus Vice-Chairman Hong presides over Majority Caucus meetings in the absence of the chair.
Representative Soo Hong represents the citizens of District 103, which includes portions of Gwinnett and Hall counties. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves as vice chair of the House Majority Caucus and vice chair of the Reapportionment & Redistricting Committee, as well as secretary of the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee. She also serves on the Judiciary and Ways & Means committees.
Representative Bruce Williamson represents the citizens of District 112, which includes portions of Gwinnett and Walton counties. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as chairman of House Majority Caucus. He also serves on the Banks & Banking, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Ethics, Insurance, Regulated Industries, Rules, Transportation and Ways & Means committees.
