The University of Toledo Family Business Center is accepting nominations for the Doing Right Spotlight 2025 now through Nov. 29.
The annual recognition program, now in its third year, honors family-owned businesses for their contributions to their communities and their commitment to doing what's right through philanthropy, community service and ethical leadership.
Nominations are open to the public, and anyone can nominate a deserving northwest Ohio or southeast Michigan business they believe exemplifies these values.
"The Doing Right Spotlight is more than a spotlight. It's a platform to celebrate family businesses that prioritize integrity, giving back and creating meaningful change in their communities," said Angie Jones, director of the UToledo Family Business Center. "We encourage everyone who knows a family business making a difference to nominate them so we can showcase the incredible work being done in our region."
Individuals can submit nominations through Friday, Nov. 29, by completing a webform available on the UToledo Family Business Center website.
Nominees will be evaluated based on their philanthropic initiatives, community involvement and the positive impact of their actions.
The winners will be highlighted at a special event on Wednesday, March 12.
This special recognition is made possible through the generous support of the Robert and Donna Martin Family, who have long championed the values of community, ethical leadership and family business success. Their continued funding ensures that family businesses with strong commitments to doing right have the opportunity to be celebrated.
Last year's Doing Right Spotlight companies were Jupmode, SSOE Group and Designetics Inc.
The UToledo Family Business Center is dedicated to supporting and promoting regional family businesses by providing resources, networking opportunities and educational programs to help family businesses thrive and contribute to their communities.
