Wang Center Sheds Light on Korean Art in Special Exhibit

Have you seen? The Charles B. Wang Center's Skylight Gallery has been transformed into a kaleidoscope of color and light this fall.

Through the Light: Contemporary Jogakbo by Wonju Seo is a masterful reinterpretation of traditional Korean wrapping cloths, turning the space into a meditative sanctuary where light passes through layers of translucent textile.

View this video to gain insights into the world-renowned artist and her latest work, on view at the Wang Center through December 31.

Seo also created White Wonderland, which has adorned the Wang Center walls since 2015 - another example of her blending of Korean textile heritage and contemporary abstraction to explore light, geometry, balance and spiritual reflection through delicate fabric, minimalist forms and innovative craftsmanship.

"Whether through textiles, plants, magic or shadows, I hope you'll continue to find inspiration, connection and warmth at the Wang Center as the year winds down and the days grow colder," said Jinyoung Jin, the center's director of Asian art and culture.

Please enjoy and take it all in, if you haven't yet. For more information and the full list of events happening in this magical cultural space, visit the Wang Center website.
