Welcoming Min Aung Hlaing, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that he views his working visit to Astana as an opportunity to establish cooperation between the two countries. He noted that Myanmar is distinguished by its rich culture, unique traditions, and important geostrategic location. Both nations are situated at the crossroads of global transport routes.

The Head of State briefed his counterpart on the main indicators of Kazakhstan's socio-economic development, as well as on the country's strategic objectives aimed at ensuring further sustainable growth.

Given the specific features of the two economies, the parties highlighted the promising potential of cooperation in such priority areas as agriculture, transport and logistics, finance, IT, and digitalization. President Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan serves as a key Eurasian transit hub, actively participating in the development of the Belt and Road Initiative, the North-South transport corridor, and the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).

In this context, the interlocutors underlined the importance of strengthening transport connectivity between the two countries, which would contribute to closer trade and economic ties.
