Defence Ministry charters Air Force plane to evacuate Spanish citizens stranded in the Middle East

Departure of the A-330 for the evacuation of Spaniards in the Middle East

The Air and Space Force has joined the operation to evacuate Spanish citizens stranded in the Middle East who wish to leave.

An A330 MRTT aircraft, with a capacity of approximately 250 people, has taken off from Torrejón Air Base. The 45th Wing and the Air Deployment Support Squadron (EADA) are the main Air Force units participating in the operation.

In October 2024, three Air and Space Force military aircraft evacuated more than 240 Spanish civilians from Lebanon, following the escalation of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.
