BREAKING: Mike Johnson Says “We’ll Schedule” Grijalva Swearing In “As Soon as She Wants” Arrow

Today, after almost two weeks of refusing to swear in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva, Speaker Mike Johnson said, "We'll schedule it - I guess - as soon as she wants." Grijalva promised to be the tie-breaker to force a vote to release the Epstein Files and bring transparency to Americans and justice to the victims of Epstein's heinous crimes.

Last month, after months of Trump's White House refusing to release the Epstein files, Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna filed a discharge petition to force a floor vote that would require the Justice Department to release the Epstein Files. After her victory in Arizona last month, Rep.-elect Grijalva came to the Capitol, ready to be sworn in and become the tie-breaking vote on the discharge petition.

Instead, Johnson chose to delay several days, even though earlier this year, two Republicans were sworn in less than 24 hours after their elections. And now, Trump has shut down the government, providing another excuse for Republicans to further delay Grijalva's swearing in. Maybe Johnson will finally do the right thing and put an end to this government cover-up.

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"After countless excuses and delays, Mike Johnson finally committed to swearing in Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva 'as soon as she wants' - so do it, Speaker Johnson. The American people are done with the stalling, delaying, and lying that has come out of Trump's White House and his Republican loyalists in Congress as they try to cover up the truth about Jeffrey Epstein's heinous crimes. The public deserves answers - not excuses. Swear her in. Release the Files."
