Statement from Senator Warren on Court Rejecting Russ Vought's Fringe Theory to Illegally Shut Down the CFPB

Washington, DC - Today, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, released the following statement on the D.C. District Court's decision on the Trump Administration's illegal move to starve the CFPB of funding:

"Today, a federal court rejected the Trump Administration's most recent, ridiculous attempt to starve the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau of funding. If courts continue to uphold the law, they'll keep blocking Russ Vought's illegal attempts to 'close down' the agency that has returned $21 billion directly to Americans who were cheated by big banks and giant corporations."
