(Washington, D.C.) - The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) released a statement today following the U.S. Senate confirmation of Dr. Mehmet Oz, M.D. to serve as Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
"We congratulate Administrator Oz on his confirmation to lead CMS," said JC Scott, president and CEO of PCMA. "Medicaid and Medicare, specifically the Medicare Part D program, are critical programs for millions of Americans who need access to affordable prescriptions. America's pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) continue to deliver significant cost savings, especially for taxpayers and patients through programs like Medicare Part D, saving an average of $2,442 per person per year."
"PBMs support lower prescription drug costs for Medicare beneficiaries and all patients. We look forward to working with Dr. Oz and the entire Trump Administration to deliver lower drug costs for every American patient."
