Stafford Deploys New Online Forms to Streamline Pre-Application Meeting Requests

Stafford County introduced two new online forms on its website to allow customers to request pre-application meetings. The requests allow the Planning and Zoning department to assemble all needed staff to a meeting on a customer's project, to streamline the process.

The meetings will be held on designated days twice a month. They are provided free as a one-time courtesy to help facilitate the understanding of Stafford County requirements, discuss any issues prior to submission, and to assist customers in the preparation of application materials. Note that these meetings do not replace the comprehensive review which will be undertaken by staff and affected agencies upon the acceptance of the formal application. During the formal review phase of an application, additional issues and comments will be raised that may require revisions to the proposal.

Customers may schedule pre-application meetings online for development review regarding concepts for Major Site Plans, Minor Site Plans, Preliminary Subdivisions, Construction Plans (if no preliminary was required), Cluster Concept Plans and Infrastructure Plans. The meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of the month, with 45 minutes allowed for the meeting.

Meetings will be scheduled for long range projects such as Comprehensive Plan Compliance Reviews, Conditional Use Permits, Comprehensive Plan Amendments and Zoning Reclassifications. Meetings are scheduled on the first and third Thursdays of the month, with 45 minutes allowed for the meeting.
