Director-General of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs Department presides over Thailand - Africa Business Talk 2025

On 23 September 2025, Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, presided over the Thailand - Africa Business Talk 2025. The event featured experience-sharing by three Thai entrepreneurs conducting business in the African region and was attended by more than 80 participants from both the public and private sectors from various industries.

The event aimed to promote trade and investment opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs interested in Africa as a promising new market, given its vast size, abundant resources, and population of over 1.4 billion. The three entrepreneurs who served as panelists shared their experiences in establishing business operations in Africa across different sectors, including the manufacturing and export of Thai agricultural machinery, the import of coffee beans from Africa, and the export of Thai orchid varieties to the region. The event also served as a platform for participants to exchange experiences and perspectives on doing business in Africa, as well as to build networks with other entrepreneurs.
