City Land Sale Proposed for Housing Construction in West Town

The construction of five new single-family homes in West Town would be facilitated through a City-owned land sale proposed to City Council today by Mayor Brandon Johnson.

Walsh Apartments LLC would pay $1.5 million to purchase the .42-acre property at 2341 W. Erie St. to construct the $5.9 million residential project.

The property was listed through the ChiBlockBuilder land sale portal in fall 2025 with a $1.4 million market value.
