A Week for Witt Giving

Wittenberg University is hosting its second annual giving week, A Week for Witt, Oct. 18-24, 2025. This special week brings together Tigers everywhere, including alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends, to honor what makes the Wittenberg experience truly transformative.

"A Week for Witt is especially meaningful as we celebrate the inauguration of Wittenberg's 16th president, Dr. Christian M. M. Brady," said Michael McGreevey, vice president for philanthropy & alumni engagement. "President Brady has called upon our community to build on our strong foundation and ensure that Wittenberg's light shines brighter than ever."

The online giving week will shine a light on several key areas, including The Wittenberg Fund, Presidential Initiatives, Scholarship Support, Experiential Learning, and Wittenberg Athletics.

"Each of these areas represent an essential part of the Wittenberg story," McGreevey said. "Every gift, no matter the size, makes an impact for our students while strengthening the University we love."

A Week for Witt offers several options to match the various philanthropic interests of those participating. Participants are encouraged to check back daily throughout the week.

  • Monday, Oct. 20 - Scholarship Support: Through the support of generous donors, the University can bring the cost of a Wittenberg education within closer reach for families. Scholarships open doors to opportunity, ease financial burdens, and ensure that the most talented and dedicated students can call Wittenberg home.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 21 - Experiential Learning: Through internships, research, service, study away, and hands-on projects, students gain real-world experiences that prepare them for lives of meaning and purpose. These opportunities expand perspectives, deepen knowledge, and strengthen connections with faculty, peers, and the community.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 22 - Presidential Initiatives: Gifts to the Presidential Discretionary Fund provide the flexibility to address emerging needs, launch strategic projects, and invest in opportunities that make an impact on students and the University community.
  • Thursday, Oct. 23 - Athletics: Wittenberg Athletics has a long tradition of excellence, offering Tigers opportunities to compete, grow, and lead both on and off the field. Gifts to Athletics help provide resources for training, facilities, equipment, and programs.
  • Friday, Oct. 24 - The Wittenberg Fund: Unrestricted funds to Wittenberg provide financial support for virtually every purpose and function of the University community. These gifts support Wittenberg's student-centered education.

"Your support ensures Wittenberg continues to provide an exceptional student-centered education and vibrant campus experience," McGreevey said. "We encourage you to show your Tiger pride, support what matters most to you, and pass your light."
