AUC Chairperson received Former President of the International Court of Justice

H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, received H.E. Abdulqawi Ahmed Yusuf, Former President of the International Court of Justice & founding President of the African Institute of International Law (AIIL), at AU Headquarters.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation under the existing MoU, the Institute's request for Specialised Agency status, & the establishment of an AU Fellowship Programme in African Union law & African public law.

The Chairperson welcomed AIIL's academic progress, reaffirmed support for renewed partnership, underscored the strategic importance of advancing rules-based Pan-African integration grounded in international law & AU law.
