WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood released a statement following the Financial Services Committee's passage of the bipartisan 'Housing for the 21st Century Act.' The bill is a culmination of legislative efforts and findings from the Housing & Insurance Subcommittee to address the housing shortage gripping communities across America.
"America has a significant housing shortage that is locking entire generations out of home ownership," said Congressman Flood. "As the Chairman of the Housing & Insurance Subcommittee, I'm proud of the broad, bipartisan support this housing package received at every step of the way. Bipartisanship is still alive in Washington, and continues to be crucial to solving our shared challenges. Now that this package has been passed out of the Financial Services Committee, I look forward to working with leadership on advancing this legislation through Congress and eventually to President Trump's desk."
