Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, Winston Peters – Brasília, March 4–6, 2026

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, Winston Peters, is visiting Brasília from March 4 to 6. On March 4, Minister Peters will be received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira. He will also hold meetings with the Chief Advisor of the Special Advisory Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Celso Amorim, the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Leonardo Barchini, in addition to Senators and entrepreneurs.

During the meeting, the foreign ministers will address topics on the bilateral agenda, with emphasis on science, technology and innovation, digital connectivity, and telecommunications. They will also discuss regional issues and multilateral affairs, such as reform of agricultural trade and efforts to tackle climate change.

The bilateral meeting will be followed by a signing ceremony, during which the Audiovisual Co-Production Agreement and the Agreement by Exchange of Notes on Partial Visa Waiver will be signed.

In 2025, bilateral trade grew by 12% compared to 2024, with a Brazilian surplus of $62.8 million. Brazilian exports totaled $133.9 million, an increase of 29.1% compared to the previous year.
