Check out the Eurostat regional yearbook – 2025 edition

The 2025 Eurostat regional yearbook package has just been published, offering a comprehensive overview of economic, social, demographic and environmental developments at regional level in 27 EU countries, 9 candidate countries and 4 EFTA countries. The package discloses the different perspectives across the regions, providing deeper insight into how they are evolving.

Along with the Eurostat regional yearbook (that is also available as a set of Statistics Explained articles), the Statistical Atlas and the interactive publication Regions in Europe offer a complete set of resources for those interested in data on EU regions.

This year, the regional yearbook highlights sustainable prosperity and competitiveness, a priority championed by the European Commission, presenting a selection of key indicators that track the progress in this area. Look out for the new special sustainable prosperity and competitiveness icon, accompanying relevant maps, figures and infographics to help you discover how the regions are evolving on this topic.

Continuing from last year, the yearbook also features several indicators linked to the Sustainable Development Goals, marked with their own icon.

The maps presented in the yearbook are also available in an interactive maps format in Statistical Atlas, allowing users to explore the data from their own region and compare it with the results across the EU.

Part of the regional package, the interactive Regions in Europe, features a variety of dynamic visualisations accompanied by short and concise text, making it perfect for classroom use.
