USTelecom Praises Farm, Food, and National Security Act for Cutting Unnecessary Red Tape

March 5, 2026

Washington, D.C. (March 5, 2026) - Today, the House Agriculture Committee passed the Farm, Food, and National Security Act, also known as the Farm Bill.

The following statement is from USTelecom President and CEO Jonathan Spalter:

"Chairman Thompson's bill is a smart, targeted fix that cuts unnecessary red tape. Rural providers shouldn't have to redo reviews for projects in areas that have already been thoroughly analyzed. This reform brings certainty, reduces delays, and ensures investment goes into building broadband networks - not navigating duplicative paperwork. It's a practical step that will help accelerate deployment and strengthen connectivity for rural communities."
