On Tuesday, President Gitanas Nausėda congratulated President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel on the occasion of Czechia's national holiday.
The President expressed his delight with the excellent bilateral relations between Lithuania and the Czech Republic, which are further strengthened by the two countries' productive cooperation at the multilateral level - within the European Union and NATO.
"We are grateful to your country for its strong commitment to collective defense and its contribution to strengthening the security of the Baltic region, NATO's eastern flank, and the Alliance as a whole through participation in NATO's Multinational Battlegroup and the NATO Air Policing Mission. The Czech Republic is a reliable ally of Lithuania, and Lithuania, valuing this relationship, is determined to continue strengthening it in every way," reads the President's message.
The President emphasized that the like-mindedness of Lithuania and the Czech Republic on security and defense issues enables the countries to efficiently pursue common regional goals, particularly in supporting Ukraine and preventing Russian expansion in the world. "We must continue to resolutely defend the values that unite us and the international rules-based order," emphasized the President.
On the occasion of the national holiday, President Nausėda wished the people of the Czech Republic a joyful celebration, as well as continued success, happiness, peace, and prosperity.
