On 8 December 2028, Chinese Ambassador Zhou Ding paid a courtesy call on Zimbabwean Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Professor Dr. Amon Murwira. They reviewed the new progress made in China-Zimbabwe relations over the past year and exchanged views on plans for the coming year.
Taking stock of the accomplishments in bilateral cooperation across various fields, as well as a series of celebratory activities marking the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Zimbabwe diplomatic relations, Ambassador Zhou stated that China is ready to work with Zimbabwe to implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of both countries, enhance the alignment between China's 15th Five-Year Plan and Zimbabwe's National Development Strategy 2, expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, strengthen coordination and collaboration on regional and global issues, and advance the building of an all-weather China-Zimbabwe community with a shared future.
Foreign Minister Murwira expressed appreciation for China's long-standing firm support and selfless assistance to Zimbabwe. He noted that China-Zimbabwe relations have achieved new milestone developments in 2025. Zimbabwe cherishes the brotherly friendship forged over the years between the two nations, and consistently regards the development of relations with China as a top priority in its foreign policy. He reaffirmed Zimbabwe's willingness to work hand in hand with China to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and improve the well-being of the peoples of both countries.
