Shop Local Pasadena Introduces Open Rewards Pilot Program

PASADENA, Calif.- The City of Pasadena is excited to announce the launch of Shop Local Pasadena powered by Open Rewards pilot. This new digital rewards program will offer 5% cash back on purchases made at participating local businesses. Launching on October 1, 2025, and running through March 31, 2026, the program is designed to reward consumers and support Pasadena's small business community, making it easier than ever to shop and save.

Pasadena is home to more than 1,600 retail businesses and over 700 restaurants that fuel the local economy. The Open Rewards program invites residents, visitors, and workers to discover these local businesses while earning rewards along the way.

Participation is simple: download the Open Rewards app, select Pasadena as your community, link a secure payment method, and start shopping locally. Every qualifying purchase automatically earns 5% cash back, which can be redeemed toward future purchases. Rewards remain valid for three months, encouraging shoppers to keep supporting Pasadena businesses.
