International Bottled Water Association | News Release | May 27, 2026
ALEXANDRIA, VA - The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ellery Notte as Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs. Notte will assume this role effective June 22, 2026.
Notte brings decades of comprehensive experience in food and beverage processing and manufacturing, and she possesses a unique blend of technical expertise, regulatory acumen, with leadership experience needed to champion our industry.
"As we move forward to execute our proactive public affairs strategy, Ellery is perfectly positioned to serve as our scientific and regulatory affairs leader. She will ensure we stay ahead of emerging issues, engage effectively with state and federal agencies, and maintain bottled water's position as the safest, most trusted source of healthy hydration," says IBWA President and CEO Matt Herrick.
"I am thrilled to join IBWA and focus on leading its scientific and regulatory responsibilities on behalf of the bottled water industry. I look forward to coordinating with the nation's regulatory authorities to continue the industry's steadfast commitment to safety and quality," says Notte. "But most importantly, I am excited to engage with and provide technical support to IBWA's members to ensure that plant operators and staff have the training and tools they need to bring healthy hydration to consumers."
Notte's career is anchored by a strong scientific foundation, holding both a master's degree in cereal science and a bachelor's degree in food science from North Dakota State University.
Notte says her top priorities are people and science - ensuring that operators and stakeholders are grounded in training and education, and that they are provided with the support and data that they need to make decisions and to operate successfully in complex regulatory and operational environments. She is dedicated to translating strategic priorities into meaningful operational execution across domestic and global organizations.
She joins IBWA from Golding Farms Foods, where she served as VP of Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory & Innovation. Prior to that, she held senior global and national roles at major brands including Krispy Kreme, Wendy's, and Checkers & Rally's.
She holds certifications in HACCP, PCQI - Human Food, PCQI - Animal Food, Internal Auditing, and Acidified Foods Manufacturing.
