Rep. Barhorst Applauds Funding Approval for Lake Loramie Improvements

State Representative Tim Barhorst (R-Ft. Loramie) today announced that Lake Loramie was awarded $1.745 million for dredging through House Bill 479.

"House Bill 479 is a huge triumph for the Lake Loramie community. It has been a pleasure of mine to work with Lake Loramie advocates to continue maintaining the lake for years to come," said Rep. Barhorst.

House Bill 479 includes an amendment to direct budget surplus funding for community projects, property tax relief, and other key priorities across the state.

House Bill 479 also includes appropriations for the following:

  • $350 million providing property tax relief to Homestead Exemption recipients
  • $320 million for an expanded sales tax holiday August 1-15, 2027
  • $310 million for the Health and Human Services fund
  • $200 million to fund community projects included in the Capital Budget in lieu of issuing debt
  • $35 million to bolster Ohio's Budget Stabilization fund, bringing its balance over $4 billion

Among many other activities, Ohioans can boat, camp, fish, hunt, swim, and hike at Lake Loramie State Park. Lake Loramie became a state park in 1949 and has been a cornerstone in the community since.
