BOZEMAN - More than 250 employers will participate in Montana State University's annual Fall Career Fair to meet and network with MSU students and alumni who are interested in internships and career opportunities.
The event, hosted by MSU's Career, Internship and Student Employment Services, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, with an early reception on Sept. 30 and opportunities for students to interview with potential employers on Oct. 2.
Local, regional and national companies and agencies will attend the event, including Billings Clinic, the City of Bozeman, Great West Engineering, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, onXmaps, Stockman Bank and many more. A full list of registered employers is available on MSU's Handshake website, which allows students to find and apply for jobs, internships, and post-graduation employment.
"From orientation to graduation and beyond, our dedicated team at MSU Career Services helps students thrive along their career pathways," said Elizabeth Feary, director of Career, Internship and Student Employment Services. "We provide a variety of services from one-one-one coaching to workshops, job and internship resources to career fairs and interview prep."
A reception-style networking event is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 30, where representatives from more than 100 companies will meet informally with students. The day after the main career fair, Thursday, Oct. 2, will feature a full day where students can formally interview with employers.
Feary said that students from all majors and at all stages of their MSU education are encouraged to attend.
"When students actively engage in career fairs, prep events and coaching, they're not just preparing for a job-they're taking ownership of their future careers," she said.
MSU Career Services also offers resources to prepare for the career fair, including mock interviews, resume help and the annual "Prep the Student" event, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 23, where students can find free professional attire. The annual Margaret Alderson Etiquette Dinner will be held Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m., an event where students can learn professional etiquette, practice common interview questions and build confidence in a professional setting. That event is $15 for students and free for veterans.
The full schedule of the Fall Career Fair is below. All events will be held in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
