The DAISY Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes by his family members. Patrick died at age 33 in late 1999 from complications related to Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a lesser-known but not uncommon autoimmune disease.
