PLANO, Texas, October 22, 2025 / U.S. Renal Care, a leading provider of dialysis for over 37,000 people living with kidney disease, is proud to announce that 20 nephrology nurses from U.S. Renal Care and Satellite Healthcare were honored with the DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses during Nephrology Nurses Week, held from September 14-20, 2025. Awarded by the DAISY Foundation, the nationally recognized honor celebrates nurses who demonstrate excellence in clinical care, leadership, and compassion.
"I'm incredibly proud of the outstanding nephrology nurses who received this year's DAISY Awards - and of our entire nursing team for the care they provide every single day," said Mandy Tilton, DNP, MBA, MSN, RN, CPPS, and Chief Nursing Officer for U.S. Renal Care. "The DAISY recipients were recognized by the very people who work alongside them - their fellow nurses, care teams, and clinical leaders - witnessing firsthand the meaningful impact they have on the lives of our patients and their loved ones. I am so impressed by the celebrations that have taken place nationwide in their honor."
Each DAISY Award recipient was nominated for their deep commitment to delivering the highest quality care and positive outcomes for patients. This recognition directly reflects U.S. Renal Care's core values of excellence, partnership, inclusion, and compassion.
In addition to celebrating current leaders, U.S. Renal Care is committed to creating career pathways for future nephrology nurses and offers an employee benefit program to support frontline team members interested in pursuing a career in nursing. The Nightingale Program (Nightingale) helps team members overcome common challenges when returning to school or enrolling for the first time, all while maintaining full-time employment. The program offers prepaid tuition for in-network schools, easing the financial burden of upfront costs, and includes career coaches who offer one-on-one support to participants. About the DAISY Awards:
The DAISY Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes by his family members. Patrick died at age 33 in late 1999 from complications related to Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a lesser-known but not uncommon autoimmune disease. (DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.) The care Patrick and his family received from nurses during his illness inspired this special way of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and their families.
