Montana Farm Bureau captures national awards for programs during American Farm Bureau Annual Convention

Anaheim, CA-The Montana Farm Bureau Federation captured the Pinnacle Award in their membership group during the American Farm Bureau Federation's 107th Convention in Anaheim, California. The Pinnacle Award is the highest honor for overall excellence for programs. Montana topped the competition in four categories: Advocacy, Coalitions & Partnerships, Engagement & Outreach and Leadership & Business Development.

Montana received the award in Engagement & Outreach for their new podcast, Montana Farm Bureau Field Notes which offers listeners in-depth interviews with beginning young farmers and ranchers, a variety of experienced producers and leaders and highlights of Montana Farm Bureau's Ag NewsWire e-newsletter.

In Advocacy, the state received the award for hosting a Montana Supreme Court Candidate Forum in Billings in partnership with the Yellowstone County Farm Bureau. The event was broadcast live on nine radio stations across the state where it reached an estimated 75,200 people on radio and social media with an in-person audience of more than 100.

The award was presented in the Coalitions & Partnerships category for the legislative dinners hosted by MFBF for both the House and Senate Natural Resources and Agriculture Committees during the Montana Legislative Session.

In the Leadership & Business Development category, MFBF received the award for their Collegiate Bridge Program which connects graduating Collegiate Young Farmer & Rancher members with their local county Farm Bureaus, ensuring continued involvement and growth.

"I am so proud of our Farm Bureau members and our staff for this award," said MFBF President Cyndi Johnson, a wheat farmer from Conrad. "It takes real dedication and hard work for Montana to continually be in the top tier for these programs at the national level."

MFBF also qualified for the Leader Award presented to State Farm Bureaus which are recognized when each of their board members donates at least $50 to the American Farm Bureau's Foundation for Agriculture.

The convention runs January 9-14, 2025, in Anaheim, California.
