Weekend Lane Closures on I-285 at Bouldercrest Rd and at I-675
Expect Traffic Delays
ATLANTA METRO - Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will install lane closures on Interstate 285 (I-285) in proximity of the Bouldercrest Road bridge/overpass this week as the I-285 at Bouldercrest Road Interchange Improvement project continues in DeKalb County.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, two left lanes will be closed on I-285 eastbound and westbound between Bouldercrest Road and US 23/SR 42/Moreland Avenue, inclusive of the I-675 interchange, beginning 8 p.m. on Friday, May 1 until 8 p.m. on Saturday.

These activities will provide safety for drivers and work crews as they continue to build the new Bouldercrest overpass at I-285 from the interstate median.

This $95 million project will reconstruct the I-285/Bouldercrest Road interchange, replace the existing Bouldercrest Road bridge over I-285, and construct five new bridges and new Collector-Distributor (CD) lanes between Bouldercrest Road and I-675. This project is designed to reduce the high frequency of vehicular accidents and crashes, better accommodate growing truck traffic volumes and create better traffic flow for current and future travel through the interchange and through the area.

Advisory: GDOT reminds drivers to exercise caution when traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
