Free learning series 'Junior Historians' featured at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum

BISMARCK, N.D. - School-age children in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to the free interactive learning series "Junior Historians" at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. Children and their accompanying adult(s) will gather at the west entrance information desk.
Aug. 2 and 6, Rock It, 11 a.m. What is the difference between a mineral and rock? Learn about what makes each one unique and paint a rock to take with you.
Aug. 9 and 13, Beans, 11 a.m. Close to 9 million pounds of beans are grown in North Dakota each year. Create a bean mosaic with the different varieties that are grown here.
Aug. 16, Take Flight, 11 a.m. Thanks to people like Don Solberg, there is a community of skydivers in North Dakota. Jump into learning while you make a parachute for a toy soldier and test it out.
