Sean “Monte” Wilson Joins Stratus® as President of Buildings & Places as Firm Expansion Continues

In this role, Wilson will lead Stratus's Buildings & Places practice, accelerating the continued growth of Stratus's Education, Commercial, Federal, and Civic markets while further connecting the firm's broad range of architecture, engineering, planning, consulting, and technical disciplines to deliver integrated solutions and exceptional value for clients and communities nationwide.

Wilson will work closely with Stratus's executive leadership team to drive profitable growth, enhance operational performance, and further expand the Company's capabilities across architecture, planning, engineering, and consulting services. His leadership will help position the Buildings & Places unit for its next phase of growth while supporting the firm's broader strategic objectives.

Wilson brings more than 35 years of experience leading multidisciplinary architecture, planning, and engineering organizations. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions within some of the world's largest design and engineering firms, overseeing complex operations, driving business growth, and leading large, geographically diverse teams serving clients across multiple markets and regions.

His experience includes executive leadership of large multidisciplinary practices with responsibility for growth strategy, business performance, talent development, client engagement, and operational excellence. Throughout his career, he has helped organizations strengthen market positioning, develop integrated service offerings, build high-performing leadership teams, and create the alignment necessary to support sustained growth and long-term client success.

Over the course of his career, Wilson has worked with Fortune 500 companies, major institutions, public agencies, and private developers on projects that shape cities, campuses, and communities around the world. His experience spans aviation, higher education, healthcare, commercial development, corporate campuses, civic facilities, mixed-use environments, and large-scale urban development initiatives. He has also advised clients on long-range planning, economic development, sustainability, resilience, and the strategic investments needed to support growth and evolving community needs.

Most recently, he held a global leadership role for one of the world's largest engineering and design firms focused on driving growth and enhancing collaboration for multidisciplinary teams worldwide. His experience scaling multidisciplinary practices aligns well with Stratus' continued growth trajectory and long-term vision.
