Cramer Announces Tribal Housing Forum with HUD Secretary Turner on Sept. 22

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, will host a Tribal Housing Forum with Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner on Sept. 22 in Bismarck, N.D.

Cramer and Turner will be joined by Tribal leaders and housing authorities from North Dakota's Tribal Nations. Their discussion will focus on federal Tribal housing programs, federal treaty and trust responsibilities in Indian Country, and housing challenges facing North Dakota Tribes.

"This is really an excellent opportunity to get all of our Tribal leaders and housing stakeholders together and have a productive discussion on the federal housing issues in Indian Country," said Cramer. "As a former builder and developer, Secretary Turner has a deep understanding of what it takes to create affordable housing."

Cramer and Turner will also participate in a special tribal housing announcement at the Standing Rock Indian Reservation.
