Lantronix Expands Power-Over-Ethernet Portfolio With New PoE Injector and Media Converters for Low-Voltage Network Applications

SI-IES-5 Series low-port-count PoE++ devices resolve power and cabling limitations for wireless access points/small cells, high-resolution security cameras and other networked devices

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 18, 2025 - Lantronix Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX), a global leader in compute and connectivity IoT solutions powering Edge AI applications, today announced it has added three new Power-Over-Ethernet Plus-Plus (PoE++) multi-Gigabit hardened injector and media converters to its expansive PoE solutions offerings. The new devices provide the ideal placement of high power, high bandwidth IP networked devices for wireless access points/small cells, high-resolution security cameras and other networked devices in building automation, manufacturing, oil and gas and security applications.

"In keeping with our promise to provide practical, reliable and robust Edge solutions, these compact devices are perfect for solving power and connectivity challenges over longer distances in low-voltage networks such as security, building automation, manufacturing and others," said Mathi Gurusamy, chief strategy officer at Lantronix.

"While Lantronix already offers a broad portfolio of PoE switches from four to 48 ports for commercial and hardened temperature environments, there are many applications where a switch is more than is required. These new low-port-count devices provide more power with greater flexibility and increased reliability for placing just one or two networked devices in hard-to-reach locations and harsh environments," added Gurusamy.

The market for industrial media converters is expected to grow at a 5 percent compound annual growth rate through 2035, according to Future Market Insights Inc. A key growth driver is industrial manufacturing development, creating the need for robust, reliable connectivity in industrial environments. In addition, the shift to faster data rate requirements due to increasing data transfer needs and growth in fiber optics for its high-bandwidth capabilities are also contributing to growth.

SI-IES-5200-LRT Unmanaged Hardened PoE++ Injector

The new SI-IES-5200-LRT unmanaged hardened multi-Gigabit PoE++ injector adds up to 90 Watts of power on a copper-cabled network segment. Designed to meet high-bandwidth demands of up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps) along with higher power delivery of up to 90 Watts, it is ideal for connecting and powering wireless access points, multi-lens surveillance cameras, license plate readers and other IP networked devices in locations where a power source is not readily available.

Offering a high level of immunity against electromagnetic interference and heavy electrical surges as well as protection from shock, freefall and vibration, the SI-IES-5200-LRT is ideal for environments such as manufacturing floors and curb-side traffic control cabinets. This durable power-sourcing device is temperature-rated to ensure safe and reliable operation from -40°C to +85°C and is designed with an IP31 rating to protect it from environmental factors such as intrusion from physical contact and water exposure.

SI-IES-5x1D-LRT Unmanaged Hardened PoE++ Injector/Converters

Lantronix's new SI-IES-511D-LRT and SI-IES-521D-LRT are unmanaged hardened multi-Gigabit PoE++ injector/converters that take in data received over fiber cabling, adding up to 90 Watts of power from each of the PoE++ ports onto one or two copper network segments, depending on model. The SI-IES-5x1D Series is designed to meet the evolving demands of remote devices requiring higher power (PoE++) and/or higher 2.5 Gigabit bandwidth. These new converters are ideal for achieving longer reach over fiber and for powering WiFi® 6E/7 wireless access points, security cameras and other networked devices in outdoor enclosures, parking garages and other harsh environments.

Providing flexibility through 1G/10G SFP/SFP+ uplink ports, the converters extend security, transportation and telco networks to required distances, according to the user-selected fiber optic transceiver. Built for rugged environments, the S-I-IES-5x1D-LRT series is certified to ensure safe, reliable operation in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +75°C and is IP31-rated for protection against dust, water and other debris. In October 2025, the SI-IES-5x1D series will also receive Class 1 Division 2 (C1D2) certification for use in hazardous environments.
