FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bethesda, MD-Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP, President and CEO of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare of 2025.
This prestigious distinction program acknowledges and honors individuals who are deemed by the Modern Healthcare newsroom to be the most influential figures in the industry in terms of leadership and impact.
"Influence can be exerted in many ways but regardless of whether it is used to internally shape organizations, the healthcare industry as a whole or both, playing a positive role benefits patients and the professionals responsible for their health," said Mary Ellen Podmolik, editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare. "Our ranked list of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare highlights the executives in all corners of the industry who are striving to advance medicine and how care is delivered - and succeeding in doing so."
Dr. Rhee is a purpose-driven Community Health Center (CHC), primary care physician whose leadership has transformed NACHC's strategic direction. Under his guidance, NACHC has launched a comprehensive framework positioning CHCs as the employer, provider, and partner of choice in healthcare and the broader health system. He has also spearheaded the launch of NACHC's Centers of Excellence to strengthen and expand CHCs and foster public and private collaboration through science, education, practice and policy.
As our nation's largest primary care system, CHCs serve 52 million patients or 1 in 7 across the country, including 1 in 3 in rural America, across more than 17,000 locations. They deliver proven high quality, affordable, and comprehensive primary care models that save lives and dollars. CHCs employ a dedicated workforce of more than 326,000 health professionals and represent $57 billion in annual buying power. No longer the best kept secret in healthcare, CHCs' 60-year record of impact in preventing chronic disease, keeping families healthy, reducing preventable and costly hospitalizations, and delivering cost-savings makes them ideal partners for innovation and building a healthier America.
The complete ranking can be found in the December issue of MH magazine. Profiles of all the honorees are available online at ModernHealthcare.com/100MostInfluential.
NACHC's mission is to champion Community Health Centers delivering affordable, effective, comprehensive primary care that is community-driven and improves health for all.
