Fifth Roundtable with Civil Society Organisations and Researchers on the implementation of the Digital Services Act

On 23 September 2026, the European Commission hosted the fifth online roundtable with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and researchers on the implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA), bringing together around 60 organisations.

The roundtable focused on systemic risks and mitigation measures.

Participants shared insights from their analysis on platforms' risk assessment reports, as well as their independent research into systemic risks and mitigation measures. The Commission presented key steps of the DSA enforcement process and highlighted avenues for civil society and academia to contribute to the implementation and enforcement of the DSA. The discussion also covered research methodologies, data access, and practical challenges faced by civil society and researchers.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange on the Commission's recent enforcement actions and priorities, including the protection of minors, online marketplaces, and AI-related risks, as well as the recently presented proposal for an EU KIDS Act.

This roundtable is part of the Commission's ongoing engagement with civil society and researchers to contribute to a safe, transparent, and accountable online environment in the European Union.
