Chinese Ambassador to Somalia Wang Yu Visits the Former Site of the Chinese Embassy in Somalia
On November 29, H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, visited the former site of the Chinese Embassy in Mogadishu. The Embassy used to sit in the heart of the city. Due to the outbreak of the civil war in Somalia in 1991, the Embassy had to withdraw from the site.
Abdi and his brothers, the friends of the Embassy, warmly welcomed Ambassador Wang in the compound. They fondly recalled their childhood experiences of attending the National Day receptions of the Embassy and other friendly events held there, and guided a tour in the main building and its surroundings.
