FDA announces end to IV saline solution shortage

The Food and Drug Administration Aug. 8 announced an end to the national shortage of sodium chloride 0.9% IV solutions products. The agency said it continues to work with manufacturers on other IV fluids still experiencing shortages. The nation's IV solutions supply was significantly impacted last year when Hurricane Helene disrupted production at a Baxter manufacturing facility in North Carolina. The company produces 60% of the country's supply of IV solutions.
