City of Yuma Opens Green Waste Drop-Off Site Following Storm

In response to last night's storm, the City of Yuma has opened a temporary green waste drop-off site to assist residents with storm cleanup.

• Location: Vacant lot at the northeast corner of South Avenue A and West 17th Street (across from Inca Lanes Bowling Alley). Please use the designated entrance off W. 17th Street.

• Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, until further notice.

• Duration: The site will be open through at least the weekend, with potential extension depending on community needs. Updates will be provided.

Residents may drop off clippings, tree branches, leaves, shrubs, weeds, and other biodegradable plant material. Branches do not need to be cut down, and materials do not need to be bagged. Large roll-off dumpsters are available on site. The site is not staffed, so residents must unload their own items and place them directly in the dumpsters. Please do not dump materials on the ground.

Not accepted: construction debris, fencing, roofing, trampolines, palm fronds, or other non-organic waste. The site is intended for residential use only; commercial loads will not be accepted.

To ensure safety, residents are asked to follow posted signage and traffic flow directions at the site.

City staff will continue storm response efforts throughout the weekend, assessing conditions and ensuring cleanup across the community.
