Corcoran Professor Wrote New Book on Conceptual Artist Jack Goldstein

Alexander Dumbadze's new book, "Jack Goldstein: All Day Night Sky."

Alexander Dumbadze,associate professor of art history and director of undergraduate studies, has published "Jack Goldstein: All Day Night Sky." The book offers a comprehensive account of the conceptual artist's career, tracing his artistic formation and lasting impact on contemporary art. Through a blend of biography, theoretical reflection and archival research, Dumbadze moves chronologically through key moments in Goldstein's life and practice. The volume provides a nuanced portrait of the artist while engaging broader questions about images, artistic subjectivity and belief in art.

Dumbadze's essays and criticism have appeared in a range of national and international publications. He is the recipient of a Creative Capital, Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant. Dumbadze was a visiting professor of art history at the Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis in 2012 and is a co-founder and former president of the Society of Contemporary Art Historians. He teaches courses on contemporary art, theory and historiography.
